WHAT WE OFFER

Black E.S.T.E.E.M. builds on the notion that community-based learning spaces can provide Black girls with rich and culturally relevant STEM experiences. We offer Black girls STEM training, empowerment, and mentorship opportunities. These experiences center around Black women’s past and current contributions to STEM, as well as encourage Black girls to draw on their scientific skills to construct Black futures. Our hands-on programs are designed to inspire Black girls to think and act like scientists and entrepreneurs. All learning is anchored within the cultural contexts of Black girls’ lives, creativity, and imagination.

Black Girls In Aviation: Hangar Experience

May 30th 2026

Join us for Black Girls in Aviation: Hangar Experience, an exciting hands-on opportunity designed for Black girls ages 13–16 to explore the world of aviation from the ground up. During this immersive visit to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, participants will step inside an active aircraft hangar and learn about aircraft maintenance, airport operations, and the careers that keep aviation moving behind the scenes.

Through guided exploration and interaction with industry professionals, participants will gain insight into pathways within aviation and build confidence in navigating spaces where Black girls are often underrepresented. This experience encourages curiosity, expands awareness of career possibilities, and fosters a sense of belonging in ESTEEM fields.
